The company also has a social media manager authorized to post information about the company or its products on social media accounts of the firm. The company discourages the social media manager from sharing sensitive information about the company on online platforms. By designating the role to an individual, the risk of attack on the company’s network infrastructure is kept low. Besides, the company employs a two-factor authentication procedure to provide extra account protection. Security concerns are also addressed by creating awareness among employees of the need to keep information such as passwords safe and the actions that an individual needs to undertake if they suspect their accounts have been hacked. The adoption of strong password policies is also targeted toward promoting the security of social media databases.
