Introduction
Amazon.com Inc (Amazon) is an online retailer and web service provider. Amazon is a conglomerate e-commerce company with cloud computing, online advertising, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence. Amazon’s is an A to Z company as seen in their logo; which states that it provides numerous services and products ranging from apparel, auto and industrial items, beauty and health products, electronics, music and now groceries.
How Amazon Uses Social Media to Hire Staff Amazon uses social media in various ways. One of those ways is hiring staff. The company advertises open positions on its social media platforms and invites interested candidates to apply. The fact that such information can reach a vast audience benefits the company as the firm gets access to a wide pool of talented and skilled individuals. Besides, 4 the fact that individuals worldwide can see job opening posts enhances the company’s promotion of diversity and inclusion.
Additionally, on its social media accounts, the company promotes information showcasing the workplace culture and employee benefits that staff members enjoy (Amazon, 2021). Hence, individuals who come across such information will likely apply for open positions if their values and goals align with the company’s. Social media also allows hiring managers to review various job applicants’ profiles. Social communication applications such as LinkedIn provide these recruitment officials with information such as the educational background and experience level of the applicant, hence increasing the ability of the team to make informed decisions. Successful candidates are also invited to check results through social media platforms.
We interviewed the Amazon manager, Cristian Saavedra. He graduated from Rutgers University in 2021, with a certification in global procurement. Amazon managers are tasked to fulfill customer's orders by developing a team of Amazon associates in a distribution warehouse environment. This is done by motivating, mentoring, and managing team associates to meet targeted goals.
